1st Community Initiative - Food Drive

March 2015

R.I.A. Federal Credit Union celebrates 80 years in 2015 and wants to show their communities what the Power of 80 can do. During the year R.I.A. will complete a variety of community initiatives that have a positive impact in the areas their members live and work.
The first objective of R.I.A.’s campaign was to host a food drive during the month of February for River Bend Foodbank in the Quad Cities, Wilton Food Pantry, Savanna Food Pantry, and Neighbor for Neighbor Food Pantry in Tomah, Wisconsin.
"We set out to collect food and cash donations to exceed over 5,000 pounds," explains Larry Coverstone, R.I.A CEO. "We are excited to announce that our drive brought in over 7,000 pounds of donations to our local food shelters."R.I.A. held various department competitions, jean days, and collected food at a Quad City Mallards game to help accomplish their goal.
In the coming year, R.I.A. plans to do 7 more major community initiatives leading up to their 80th Anniversary in September. Keep an eye out for future outreach from R.I.A. Federal Credit Union.

R.I.A. Fights for Local Service and Global Good

November 2014
During the month of October R.I.A. committed to our local food shelters and Jason's Box to follow the Credit Union philosophy of "People Helping People." Our mission was to provide items of food to our local food shelters (River Bend Foodbank, Neighbor for Neighbor Food Pantry in Tomah, Savanna, and Wilton Food Pantries) for every new member and donate a box of goodies to troops serving overseas for every 50 new members.

With a goal to donate over 1,000 items of food and 10 boxes to troops overseas, we completed our mission of Local Service, Global Good by combining donations from members with our efforts to donate over 1,500 items of food to our local food shelters and 11 boxes for troops overseas for Jason's Box.

We are proud to do our part for these wonderful organizations to help them accomplish their mission. We look forward to continuing our efforts to better our communities.

Local Service. Global Good.

You can also drop off a donation for our food shelters or Jason's Box at any of our branches.
