Frequently Asked Questions
Is my money still safe? How does NCUA share insurance apply after the merger?
Yes — your money remains completely safe.
After the merger, deposits will continue to be federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) for up to $250,000 per individual depositor.
In addition, R.I.A. Federal Credit Union provides an extra layer of protection through Excess Share Insurance (ESI), which insures deposits for an additional $250,000.
That means your total deposit coverage after the merger will be up to $500,000 per member — offering more protection than most financial institutions.
