Hello! My name is Claire Chouinard and I am the newest voice for the Get it Together – Real World Dollars and Sense blog. I am currently a business major at Western Illinois University - Quad Cities where I am anxiously awaiting graduation in the spring. When I’m not spending my time in the Marketing Department at R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, I am working in the Student Affairs Department at WIU or doing my duties as Student Government Vice President.
Okay, enough about me; I’m actually here to help you! Over the next few months I’ll be blogging about different aspects of financial literacy. It’s my goal to make your life easier by helping you better understand the world of finance.
Being financially responsible is tough. Like, trying to get through the morning when the coffee maker breaks kind of tough. But, it’s part of being an adult, which we’ve all been trying to prove to the world since we were about ten years old. Now that I actually am an adult, I would like to go back to being ten years old. We now have bills to pay, college text books cost about as much as a small car, and when did food become so expensive?
No worries, you’re not in this alone. Like I said earlier, I’m here to help you! Becoming a financially successful adult is possible, and with the help of R.I.A. Federal Credit Union and the mistakes I’ve made and learned from so far in life, you’ll be a financial expert in no time!
Welcome to the real world,
