For the fourth year in a row, R.I.A. Federal Credit Union was honored with the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence for Credit Unions. R.I.A. Federal Credit Union and 14 other recipients received a Designation of Savings Excellence seal which recognizes credit unions that go above and beyond to encourage people to save money during America Saves Week from February 25th through March 2.
During the America Saves Week campaign event 100,000 people nationwide opened new savings accounts. At a time when the personal savings rate of Americans is at its lowest since the financial crisis of 2008, it is critically important to encourage people to save.
With over 300 R.I.A. Federal Credit Union members opening new savings accounts during America Saves Week, a total of $49,789 was saved. When including the savings deposits of those members who already had savings accounts, a total of over $3.5 million dollars was saved during the week.
